Evidence-based Psychotherapy

Dr. Brennan's therapeutic style is collaborative, strength-based and welcoming. She is trained in an array of evidence-based (backed up by objective, scientific evidence) psychological treatments including: 

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) 
    Addresses the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to help individuals develop coping             mechanisms and manage challenging emotions.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

       Focuses on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness  skills.

  •  Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

       A unique empirically based psychological intervention that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies.

  • Motivational Interviewing MI)

       A client-centered counseling approach that helps individuals explore their ambivalence about change and develop            motivation for behavioral changes.
